Wait, you mean the heart's supposed to be given figuratively? (to make it easier to get, for those who were confused. XP)
Wanted a new ID. And this seemed fitting enough to follow the last one, haha.
A self-portrait of sorts. This took me a while, but it was so much fun. My favourite part is the nose, though. And the hair was fun. And the water swirls turned out not to be as challenging as I thought, though granted, I wasn't exactly going for full-out realism. Also, mostly-monotone palette <3 Made everything loads easier.
As for the title, found the word while doing research for a story of mine, along with a whole lot of other ridiculously pretty words to have to do with music and tempo and whatnot. And also. Haha. I seem incapable of doing anything romantic-like without turning macabre. I swear, I'm not like that all the time. Honest.
Feels good to get something done after months of art block. Now, hopefully, I'll be able to get the rest of the things on my plate done. Including commissions I owe (man, you guys are awesome for not, like, having me assassinated by now. They're coming! I just...keep redoing them, or having artblock, and yeah 8D;;; Or midterms. I'm so not a fan of midterms. )
Photoshop 7.0 from start to finish. I have 4 different versions, at various stage of completion, and I wouldn't have gotten to this one if I hadn't played around in Painter with it, too. Fun stuff <3
It's actually because the heart was given to someone. Which a throwback to my Valentines '08 picture, [link] . Yes, the answer actually is that cheesy.

Interesting picture. While I'm not a fan of blood in artwork, there is something ... settling, almost romantic about the piece. That was what I felt after the knee jerk repulsion to the blood. Then I read your comments and reconsidered.
Nicely done! Love the simplicity of the expression and serenity ... not an easy emotion to convey, I think. Makes me believe this piece has some of the allure the Mona Lisa contains.
Magnificent.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
